Pacific Avenue Gateway Mural

Everett, Washington

In collaboration with the Everett Gateway Project committee, we are calling for artists to submit their qualifications to design a mural that welcome visitors to Everett’s downtown and waterfront. The application below is intended to take just a few minutes!

Location: Pacific Avenue & I-5 Overpass Everett, Washington (north wall, approximately 3,000 square feet)

Eligibility: This RFQ is open to all artists and designers, regardless of geography or mural experience, though artists with a past or present connection to the Pacific Northwest are strongly encouraged to apply. Finalists will be required to present designs to a review committee, in Everett.

Phase 1 Project Scope: 3 artists will be invited to present fully developed site specific design proposals and compensated $2,500 upon delivery. The preferred designer will be compensated an additional $7,500 for up to 3 rounds of design reviews with revisions, a total of $10,000 for delivery and usage rights.

Phase 2 Project Scope: mural installation will occur during the fall of 2025. please note that the committee is considering multiple options for installation, including artist installation, assisted installation with a local team, printing installation, and potential hardscaping in conjunction with the artwork. these options will be explored with the chosen artist and defined based on content and needs - additional funding will cover the installation costs

Anticipated Timeline: RFQ posted July 18, qualifications due August 15, finalists notified August 28, designs due September 12

About overall creative: Kathleen + Lina co-founded overall creative, a woman owned creative services company that focuses primarily on large scale murals and assisting artists, communities and clients to achieve their artistic vision. For this grant we will be managing the RFQ, design reviews as well as assisting with any materials, production and installation needs.
